National Day Parade Preview - 28th July 2007

I went for a steamboat buffet dinner with my Dragon Scout Group and our overseas guests, Hawaiian Scout Troop 42, who were here on an exchange visit and together celebrating our 85th Anniversary Celebrations.

Do keep a lookout, I would be writing up on my PR/Liason/Helper days with the Hawaiian Scout Troop soon.

Meanwhile, here's some NDP Preview photos.

Vintage Car Showcase - Retro Equipment

The Vintage Car Showcase displayed great treasures of great racing cars and it was an eye opener to look at their interiors, dashboard and other details inside the legendary cars themselves.

Vintage Car Showcase - Singapore Heritage Festival 2007

Smile ! Welcome to Vintage Car Showcase

The Singapore Heritage Festival 2007, part of National Day Celebrations 2007, held a vintage car showcase as part of its festival highlights at the National Museum of Singapore on 22nd July 2007.

There were many historical vintage cars on display, some were meant to be limousines, a handful were vintage sports cars and I was amazed to see MG sports cars that were very well preserved and taken care of. Those were the F1 sports cars of their generation.

Awesome vintage cars, in a class of their own, respected and appreciated.

Portrait Reflections of a Photojournalist

The use of reflections from a mirror is something we do everyday, when we wake up and get ourselves ready and looking fresh for work or outing, by looking at ourselves in the mirror.

In photography, we might be too engrossed in taking pictures of the whole events/people, thus we didn't explore other possible perspective of photographic view.

I was at the Vintage Car Showcase at National Museum and I took the opportunity to use the reflections from the mirror of the historical cars on display.

Just something different from my usual style.

4 Generations of Family Tree Network

During my weekend retreat at my Grandma's 90th Birthday celebrations, I did not visit my relatives regularly and I am guilty of not knowing who my nieces and nephews are, quite a handful of them, some of them were in their teenage years already.

Well, also indirectly telling me that I am not getting any younger ...... & the usual naggings from my Grandma and Aunties.

Nevertheless, presenting 4 Generations .....

Simple & laid back lifestyle in Bukit Pasir, Muar

My relatives lived in this simple and laid back village. Over the years, it has grown and expanded in size, as well as newer houses replacing the wooden ones. There are still many things in their original status, preserving a significant part of the history of this village.

Coming from a rat race and concrete high rise Singapore, it would always be a great escape from the well rounded pressures and hectic lifestyle. Hereby in this beautiful village, you can have access to fresh and big fruits, home grown vegetables w/o pesticides used, kampung chicken, setting off firecrackers and fireworks during CNY.

Introducing my kampung getaway

Anybody keen to visit ?

Grandma's 90th Birthday Celebrations

My grandma is an awesome Iron Lady, strong and fit, with a heart of gold.

On 30th June 2007, we all held a grand yet simple home cooked feast birthday celebration at her home in Bukit Pasir, Muar, Malaysia. Her extended 4 generations of family came under 1 roof to be with her and be part of her grand celebrations.

We drove in and started to help out in the preparations for feast. We prepared the tables and chairs, brought out the food, drinks and desserts prepared by my aunties. It was a really great feast of delicious food and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Soon grandma's guests arrived and the party began, people came to wish her Happy Birthday, showered with gifts and red packets.

We, the whole extended family network, ordered a giant cake, that has 9 "storeys", signifying her 90th birthday. It was a great sight that stands tall and proud, just like my grandmother.

Soon after, we all had our fun of photo taking, different generations and groups of our extended family network.

Happy 90th Birthday Granny ! Many best wishes and happy returns !
